Started May 21, 2018. This just started as wanting to make something super funky. Guess that's why I used the good 'ol Funky Drummer break. I wanted something simple, energetic, and groovy. Somewhat jungly but fresh, which is why it's mostly the break and the bass that drives it forward. The melodic bits help had a bit of color and more of that funk seasoning™ too. Strings, crunchy Rhodes, deep 808ish bass, classic drums, and groove - I don't know if I could get any funkier (I'm trying to trust me).

I was in a good place too. Getting things ready to move across the state with my then s/o and pup, and about to start a new chapter called "Graduate School". I was excited, anxious, and ready to start something new. Well, not THAT new since I was moving back to the same place I went for my undergrad. The situation was different though. I wasn't alone and that felt great. Becoming more "mature" as my Mom would say. She also pronounces it like "Muh-Tour"…idk. Anyway, things were looking up. At least that's what I was hoping/working towards.
