Rob Trujillo is well known as the bass player for Metallica but some of his greatest bass work can be heard with his previous bands Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves. The different style of Infectious Grooves allowed Rob to make use of his slapping technique and some wicked 16th note funk grooves a la Jaco Pastorius.
But in the song Violent And Funky we also get to hear some of Rob's trademark 3 finger picking technique that he would use to great effect in doubling the fast guitar riffs of Metallica.
Today we're going to look at the main groove from Violent And Funky and I'll be giving some advice on how to develop your 3 finger picking.
