Learn how to mix funky single notes and chords on guitar. This is a very common technique for playing funk style rhythms. This technique focuses a lot on palm muting, and targeting specific strings. Gary will show you this technique with a riff as well.

Minor 7th chords are really popular chords used in funk and in this lesson, you'll start with an A minor 7th chord. What you want to do is play single notes within that chord shape and mix it up with the chord.

In order to play this technique you want to be very precise with your palm muting. Palm muting is when you lightly touch the strings so you're not letting the strings fully vibrate. There's so much to learn here and don't forget to grab a metronome!
